Dear all,
A Happy New Year and Happy New Millennium!
How are you doing? I hope you have a nice time during new year's days.
I have already spent one and half year in Manchester. Fortunately, this
academic year is more comfortable for me to stay and work in CCSR and
Manchester.
Last year, I had personal good news; awarded Overseas Research Studentship,
therefore enable me to go to PhD, and started to do Teaching Assistant of
the classes using SPSS, one kind of statistical software. They gave me much
challenge.
However, I reflect myself that regrettably I was not so active in the
teaching assistant, and that I have not made enough progress in my project.
In addition, of
course my poor English.
In the year 2000, I plan to push myself to work harder than I did in 1999
(Do I always say that?). On 20 March 2000, I will make presentation at CCSR
seminar (I need to speak around 1 hour and answer questions from audience
around 30 minutes!!. <Oh my God!> Actually I have been worrying about that
since I was volunteer for the presentation. But I believe "without
challenge, without any progress and success"). And I wish I make
presentation in some international conference in the mid of this new year.
I hope all is going well with you through 2000. May the new year bring you
good health, peace, happiness and success.
Yayoi
P.S. I could not use e-mail until 5 Jan because of Y2K (2000年問題).
Thank you.
